Tutoring, support work and babysitting

About Spicy Kidz

As a busy mum of 3 I identified a gap in the market and put together a plan to fill it. In usual style this has morphed a few times to what you now see.

I homeschool 2 of my children and found many who struggled with homeschooling their children. My own admitted to not been able to work effectively as part of a group and so my first homeschool group was born. While I planned for this to expand it wasn’t to be as I found more people were wanting individual tutoring for their child. Tutoring in maths and English is a large part of what I now offer. In addition to this I offer support work and babysitting.

Supporting children and their families is important to me and as an early childhood and primary educator I wanted to be able to help others in ways that they would find beneficial to their lifestyle and choices. I have in-depth knowledge of neurodivergence and am able to work with individuals on the Autism Spectrum, with ADHD and learning disabilities. I am also a Certified Facilitator of LEGO® Based Therapy and will soon be a qualified Developmental Educator.

Bringing life experience, knowledge and understanding to assist children and families wherever I can.

Services

Tutoring

I offer play-based, strengths-focused tutoring in Maths and English up to Year 9, as well as support with organisation and learning skills. Sessions are designed with neurodivergent students in mind, using flexible, creative approaches that make learning engaging, meaningful, and accessible. Connection, curiosity, and confidence are prioritised, meeting each student where they’re at and supporting them to learn in ways that work for them.

Babysitting

I offer calm, supportive babysitting for children up to about 10 years old, with experience caring for neurodivergent children. I use a play-based, child-led approach, respecting each child’s individual needs, interests, and communication style. I prioritise emotional safety, predictable routines, and gentle support, helping children feel comfortable, understood, and secure while in my care.

Support Work

I offer support work for children and teens, both at home and in the community, with a focus on understanding and responding to individual needs. I can help with setting up supportive routines, including creating visual schedules, as well as transition planning and gentle implementation. I also provide assistance with developing everyday life skills, using flexible, strengths-based approaches that support confidence, independence, and emotional safety.
